Richard I have an iphone 3g that is unlocked and jailbroke with West Central Wireless. Everything works for me except the mms messaging. If you could give me a few pointers to help get it working I would appreciate it greatly my email crisbroz776@gmail.com. Thanks

ok, I am getting the same as all the above………in general settings it does not give me an apn option. just vpn. Please help!

I jailbroke my friends iphone 3g and downgraded its firmware from 4.1 to 4.0.1. After jailbreaking, I used cydia to unlock with ultrasn0w. He took it to West Central Wireless and couldn’t get his sim card to work. It just kept saying “searching”. West central said that there was probably a problem with the sim card reader. So, I restored to 4.1 and brought it to at&t. The put in a sim and it worked perfectly. So, we jailbroke and unlocked again, but it still keeps saying searching when we put his west central wireless sim card back in. His sim works great in his phone, but not in the iphone. Any suggestions to get the phone working and stop it from saying searching? Ive turned it off and back on. I’ve put it in airplane mode and taken it out. Please help!!!

I just purchased an unlocked phone from a company on e-bay. My cell service is thru WCW. I followed the steps outlined and shortly after I click on ‘install’, I receive an error that says “subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 255″. Any help would be appreciated.

Ian,

Long time! Hope all is well in your world.
I can’t seem to get my 3G APN Editing to complete in Cydia, it gives me exit 255 error code. I’m on West Central Wireless, but can’t get to an area in Network to input address. Any help? I’m in San Angelo, and I guess I could go to WCW and get them to do it. Have you heard if WCW is going to upgrade to 3G?

Richard, I was wondering if you have any tips on how I can get my Iphone to send MMS. I can receive it. I have a 2G Iphone with everything MMS enabled, 3.0FW. I have Internet working as well. MMS works if I stick sim in another cell. I am on Right Wireless owned by West Central Wireless.

If you need help let me know I have done just about everything you can imagine with my iPhone on WCW. I have internet, email, and MMS/SMS. I even gave Alex a few pointers when I set mine up a year and half ago.

Man, could I use some help. The article running a iphone was very helpful, thank you so much.
I recently purchased a 3G that was jailbroken with Cydia.Alex has tried briefly to help and he was running into the same problem. I followed the instructions to put the APN address in, but when I go to Network is will not give me an APN option. Here is what that screen looks like:
Network
Enable 3G off
Data Roaming off, but tried it ON
VPN not configured
WIFI

I never can get APN to be an option. Do I need to do something with VPN since it is not configured? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I lie in San Angelo, TX and my cell is [removed by Ian for privacy protection]. I can make and receive calls, texts, and mail which it is pulling off my home wireless router.
There is one thing,since this is new to me. After I tried the above approach three or four different times, now Cydia has a 1 on its icon, like a message, and now when I try to go to Cydia, it starts for just long enough for me to see it is loading, then goes back to the Icon menu page. So, for some reason, I can’t get back in to Cydia. Any help for a tired ole soul wanting to get his new toy up and running?
